Jaden Christopher Syre Smith (born July 8, 1998) is an American actor and dancer who is the son of actor/rapper Will Smith and actress/singer Jada Pinkett Smith . In 2008 it was announced that Will Smith had arranged for his son to play the Karate Kid in the remake of the 1984 film, his father Will Smith is expected to produce the film . His mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, was to appear as his on-screen mother in the film, but that role went to Taraji P. Henson. He is the brother of Willow Smith and half-brother of Trey Smith. Jaden, along with his younger sister Willow, are homeschooled. .
